CGI (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB) has signed an agreement with University College London Hospital (UCLH) to offer e-CareLogic, CGI’s Integrated Clinical Electronic Records system to other healthcare Trusts. e-CareLogic has been developed by CGI with UCLH to deliver secure access to patient health information via clinician, GP and patient access portals.

CGI has developed e-CareLogic in partnership with UCLH clinicians to serve the complex acute hospital over the past ten years. It enables the 7,000 clinicians working at the hospital to quickly and easily access seamless patient information held across disparate and in some cases legacy hospital systems through a portal. e-CareLogic provides an end-to-end workflow management system that helps to improve patient care and efficiency by enabling clinicians to capture clinical data, order diagnostics, manage activity and generate discharge summaries and reports.

CGI is investing in and enhancing its e-CareLogic solution for both UCLH and other healthcare providers, including mobile application development to further save clinician’s time and provide access to vital patient data in all hospital environments. e-Carelogic brings together patient activity and treatment data into one place and in real time from existing, tried-and tested hospital systems. It also enables easier management of hospitals by delivering management reports that bring together data in underlying systems to give a whole system overview.

James Thomas, Director of ICT at UCLH said, "Our clinical staff are able to spend more time with their patients and we have enhanced patient safety as a result of delivering an Electronic Health Record in partnership with CGI."

Calum Macleod, Vice President of Healthcare for CGI in the UK said, “e-CareLogic has been proven to be a vital tool for UCLH, both in providing clinicians access to patient data where and when they need it and for improving visibility of information for hospital management. By CGI working alongside UCLH to offer e-CareLogic, other healthcare trusts can benefit from this partnership approach and CGI’s intellectual property technology expertise with the added confidence that one of the UK’s leading hospitals has developed the solution to meet its needs.”

UCLH, situated in the heart of London, is one of the largest NHS trusts in the United Kingdom and provides first-class acute and specialist services in six hospitals.
