Graduate/Degree Level Apprenticeships

Working At CGI

Our degree apprenticeship programmes give you the chance to achieve a full degree, debt free, while earning a competitive salary in a friendly, supportive environment. There is a range of courses to pursue, covering IT and business management, and whichever you choose, you’ll be working towards a recognised degree from a great university. You’ll study either virtually, or attend university once a week to get the best experiences from both student life and a corporate environment.

Due to the nature of our business, you work on ‘projects’. This means you have the opportunity to work across a wide range of roles, industries and locations, there is no ‘typical day’. It really does vary at CGI and that’s the exciting thing, it is up to you to shape and develop your career in the direction you want to go with the support of others.

What have previous students worked on?

Previous students have worked in everything from space and defence to bid management, cyber security to project management. The best thing about joining us is that while you may start in one of these areas, the opportunity to move internally is huge, so you can take control of your career from your first day. Our undergraduates have worked on top-secret national security projects, played their part in securing Europe’s major satellites, helped win multi-million pound projects and made sure that all our projects are planned and executed to the standards our clients expect.

Which locations do you recruit into?

Our Degree Apprenticeships are delivered in England and we recruit into various base locations with our main hubs being; Birmingham, Leatherhead and Reading. Occasionally we may have roles based in London.

Our Graduate Level Apprenticeships are delivered in Scotland and we recruit into various base locations with our main hubs being; Edinburgh and Glasgow.

As CGI is a consultancy, your projects could be based from other locations asides from your base location, and you should therefore be prepared for travel in your role.

What support do you offer?

You will have designated managers who will support you with your career development and professional conduct at CGI and look after you on a day-by-day basis. Alongside this you will have a senior mentor who supports your university studies and a ‘buddy’ which is a current or graduated student of the programme to help you with anything else you may need.
