Dynamo Owasp

We are excited to announce that CGI has recently formed partnerships with two important tech organisations in the North East as part of our ongoing plans to increase CGI’s presence in this region.

Dynamo is a volunteer led, not for profit group set up with the core mission to ‘Grow the North East Tech Economy’ through collaboration, innovation and skills. With over 160 members made up of IT organisations, large corporate employers, consultants, technology hubs, education providers, local government and suppliers to the industry, Dynamo is passionate about promoting the region as a hotspot for IT and digital business.

The Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) is a non-profit foundation that works to improve the security of software through its community-led open source software project. OWASP has hundreds of chapters worldwide, tens of thousands of members, and hosts industry-leading educational and training conferences, both locally and globally.

CGI is committed to promoting technology, business and community growth in the North of England, and these new partnerships will help to lay the foundations for CGI’s growth in the North East, in Newcastle in particular. We look forward to collaborating with both Dynamo and OWASP on our journey to support and develop the North East tech sector and its communities.

We are proud to sponsor the OWASP Newcastle Chapter and look forward to delivering a talk on our role in the national Smart Metering programme and the security and privacy implications at their next Chapter event on Tuesday, 5 May 2020.
