We are looking for a Life Sciences SME Consultant to work on cutting-edge commercial projects, specifically with a specialism with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). Your future duties and responsibilities

The Lab Systems Subject Matter Expert will be responsible for providing expertise and leadership during the assessment and implementation of new lab systems to support our client’s Quality Control function. You will be expected to work with the client implementation and BAU teams with strategic planning, driving the business, documenting the requirements and driving harmonization between existing lab systems, along with providing deep expertise related to lab systems.

Responsibilities will include:

• Providing and documenting strategic guidance on lab system landscapes and implementation
• Working with the delivery team, IT BAU team, business team and third-party vendor to assess and implement a lab support system
• Working with end users to gather and document requirements and review and approve test scripts
• Working with the vendor to understand the impact of new releases and preparation for the new releases
• Supporting configurations to meet business needs
• Supporting training as the solution is deployed
• Providing ongoing guidance during implementation in order to drive on time and on budget delivery.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

The ideal person for this role will have extensive experience of working within a Pharmaceutical or Biotech company or an IT consultancy that has worked extensively in the sector. You will therefore have extensive experience of Lab systems (any of the following - Labware, Labvantage, Biovia) and processes. It’s highly desirable that you have a degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or Computer Science.

The right individual for this role will be self-motivated, have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with a diverse, global team. You will be highly organised and will have the ability to analyse, articulate and solve problems. You will also the ability to learn quickly, move with agility between assignments, multi-task and to work effectively in a team environment, both face-to-face and remotely.

This role will require someone on client site in Cambridge at least 3 days per week, so if you are not from the area you must have a flexible attitude towards travel.
