From the moment you join CGI as a school leaver, you’ll be playing a vital role in the services we deliver to our clients.

Our degree apprenticeship programmes give you the chance to achieve a full degree, debt free, while earning a competitive salary in a friendly, supportive environment. There is a range of courses to pursue, covering IT and business management, and whichever you choose, you’ll be working towards a recognised degree from a great university. You’ll study either virtually, or attend university once a week to get the best experiences from both student life and a corporate environment.

A Breadth Of Experience

Previous students have worked in everything from space and defence to bid management, cyber security to project management. The best thing about joining us is that while you may start in one of these areas, the opportunity to move internally is huge, so you can take control of your career from your first day. Our undergraduates have worked on top-secret national security projects, played their part in securing Europe’s major satellites, helped win multi-million pound projects and made sure that all our projects are planned and executed to the standards our clients expect.

Engaging Project Work

Due to the nature of our business, you work on ‘projects’. This means you’re never doing the same thing and you can have different roles across various projects, so there is no ‘typical day’. It also may mean you are working from your base office, on client site, in another CGI office or sometimes from home. It really does vary at CGI. And that’s the exciting thing, it really is up to you to shape and develop your career in the direction you want to go with the support of others.

CGI's value: respect

To support you, you will have a designated manager who will support you with your career development and professional conduct at CGI. You will also have line managers on your projects that look after you on a day-by-day basis. Alongside this you will have a senior mentor who supports your university studies and network within CGI and a ‘buddy’ which is a current or graduated student of the programme to help you with anything else you may need.
