CGI is proud to sponsor the first ever Herald Pioneer Awards, recognising and rewarding companies in Scotland from across all business sectors who have engaged in sustainability and innovation in climate change action, driving for a more sustainable future.

The inaugural Pioneer awards encourages entries from both businesses and individuals across a range of categories that commend innovation, entrepreneurship, cultural change and sustainability.

CGI is sponsoring the Innovation in STEM category and will be presenting the award on the night. The innovation economy needs people with skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The Innovation in STEM award will recognise a training provider, college or university that is democratising education – and bridging the gender gap – by using pioneering techniques, programmes, or technology to reach a wide and diverse audience.

Steve Smart, Senior Vice President, Scotland said, ‘Presenting the award for Innovation in STEM provides the opportunity to recognise the wealth of emerging talent in the sector. Our organisation recognises the importance of encouraging young people into STEM subjects in order to support the growing need for expertise across these areas and our members run a number of initiatives to help achieve this. Congratulations to all Innovation in STEM award finalists and thank you to The Herald for recognising pioneers in this way.’

The Herald Pioneer Awards are open for entries across 11 categories, from start-up to climate-neutral and will recognise efforts that are achieving real results in transforming climate neutrality. The inaugural awards are quick, easy and FREE to enter. Once you have decided on a category or categories that you would like to enter, all you need to do is fill in the entry form.
