Mark Aston was appointed Senior Vice President responsible for North, Energy, Utilities and Telecoms in September 2018. In May 2019, to capitalise on market synergies, the Australia Business Unit was added to the UK Operations and Mark now leads the UK North and Australia Business Unit.
He has over 20 years’ experience of working in the information technology industry with a specific focus on energy and utilities. A strong operational leader with a firm focus on the fundamentals of running a business, he has worked in Asia, the US, Australasia and the Far East. Working in Australia for over 17 years, Mark ran the Energy and Utilities Business Unit and subsequently all the system integration consulting activities nationally.
General management, project management, global delivery and business transformation are all areas of specialist knowledge and he particularly enjoys building effective and enduring working relationships. Prior to joining CGI, Mark worked for Severn Trent in a breadth of roles in both the UK and Australia. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his two daughters, loves travelling and has a passion for Australian Rules Football developed during his time in the country.
