Contract designed to mature operational services to boost business efficiency and growth
CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) has been awarded the One IT Operations Outsourcing contract by UK telecommunications company TalkTalk. The contract will see CGI strengthen and transform TalkTalk's operational services over the next five years.
TalkTalk's five year One IT Operations contract forms part of a business-wide transformation programme for better customer experience and operational excellence. Having developed its IT estate organically over the past decade, TalkTalk is looking to improve operational efficiency – and, ultimately, drive further growth – by consolidating its IT systems and processes and evolving its approach from reactive to proactive and preventative.
In leading the business to a mature operational model across both systems and processes, CGI will modernise the operation of TalkTalk's IT estate with a cohesive suite of monitoring and CGI's proprietary automation tools to drive efficiency and reliability, generating a stable platform for future operations. As part of this work, CGI will manage the migration of TalkTalk's apps into the private cloud, providing enhanced stability, capacity and improved capabilities for validating future releases.
Gary Steen, CTO, TalkTalk said, "CGI demonstrated strong leadership and a clear ability to impart change and maturity into TalkTalk, both in terms of evolving the IT estate but also our working practices and behaviours. It was that leadership stance and transformational change capability that really stood out for us during the selection process, as well as impressive synchronisation across CGI's global offices when it came to systems and processes."
Tara McGeehan, President, CGI UK, commented, "The UK's telecoms market continues to be hugely competitive, and with the regulatory environment putting more pressure on organisations than ever before, it's crucial that key industry players like TalkTalk get their operational systems and processes in good order. CGI's local industry expertise, combined with our global insight, puts us in a great position to help TalkTalk fulfil their future growth plans."
