CGI (TSX: GIB.A) (NYSE: GIB), a global IT and business process services company, has announced that it has been appointed to provide a range of services to Scotland’s public and third sectors as part of a major Scottish Government contract.

CGI, which has an established presence in the Scottish public and private sectors, has been selected for two separate procurement frameworks which are open to a variety of Scottish public sector bodies including health services, local authorities, universities and colleges, voluntary organisations, and charities.

The first – the Scottish Digital and Technology Services (DATS) framework– will see CGI offer a range of core services including transformational ICT/digital projects & service/system integration, Cyber Security, IT Consultancy and ICT Project and Programme Management to organisations throughout Scotland. CGI will also partner with small to medium sized organisations through its SME Accelerate programme to support delivery of the framework.

The second – Hosting Services framework – focuses on delivering public and private Cloud-based support over an agreed two-year period. CGI’s solid track record for managing complex hosting requirements within their Secure Government Cloud is further supported through partnerships with Microsoft and Edinburgh-based SME, Pulsant.

The frameworks have been established by Scottish Government to provide users with access to the latest digital technology and best of breed IT services and solutions, whilst taking advantage of excellent value for money. Both frameworks offer two-year contracts with an option to be extended for two additional 12 month periods. According to Scottish government figures, DATS is estimated to be worth between £30 - £75 million over the four years, and Hosting Services is estimated to be worth between £15 - £30 million over the same period.

Chris George, VP Public Sector Scotland, welcomed the news, commenting: “CGI’s success in being selected for these frameworks is testament to our expertise and service offering and supports the commitment we have made to Scotland and to Scotland’s business communities.”

“As the pace of technological change increases, it is important to remove any barriers to business. It is therefore crucial for organisations to have in place robust, viable IT systems, which allow them to deliver first class digital services. Both frameworks provide the opportunity for public and third sector organisations in Scotland to have access to the right mix of support and expertise, which is an opportunity CGI is very excited to be a part of.”

CGI was appointed onto the frameworks following a rigorous tender evaluation process. This included the ability to demonstrate the breadth of their service offering and their ability to deliver the framework requirements.
