Dream Connectors is a global Corporate Social Responsibility programme which aims to bring us closer to our communities. All members are invited to submit their ideas to improve our communities’ well-being through the positive impact of technology. Members whose projects are selected will receive CGI support, such as access to technology, member volunteers and funding.
This year the UK winning project was nominated by Emma Wilkinson based in our London office.Supporting our objective to inspire the next generation, Emma’s project gives members across CGI’s U.K. locations the opportunity to organise fun and interactive technical sessions for young people in their communities. Using resources such as Raspberry Pi’s, members will create their own session plans or use ready-made ones to teach basic IT-related subjects such as programming and coding.
Now the 2018 programme has already started, members are working with local schools and community groups to provide inspirational activities to engage young people in practical way in the key principles of technology: logical thinking and creativity. Using games as well as hands-on coding skills, our CGI volunteers will talk to hundreds of children across the UK over the course of the project.
