CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) today announced that it has been selected by Shell as a lead Key Application Services (KAS) supplier. The new agreement will support Shell’s Technical and Competitive IT (TaCIT) unit, which is responsible for providing innovative technical IT solutions and services in support of the Upstream and Downstream business, including IT for Shell’s Capital Projects. TaCIT sits in Shell’s Projects and Technology business.

The agreement will see CGI supporting TaCIT’s critical business and technical applications in three key portfolios:

  • Subsurface and Wells
  • Engineering and Smart
  • Projects and Technology CIO Services

CGI will leverage best practice productivity processes and tools to assist Shell TaCIT in maintaining top quartile performance from their information technology portfolio. In addition,CGI will capitalise on innovative solutions, supporting Shell’s ambition to become the most innovative and competitive Energy company.CGI will deliver projects and managed services to support Shell globally from four primary locations: the Netherlands, North America, the UK and India, and will also co-locate with Shell wherever technical assistance is required.
