CGI (NYSE: GIB) (TSX: GIB.A) has been awarded a 2 year contract, by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) to provide a highly innovative service to design, build and operate the Cyber Situational Awareness Fusion Architecture (CySAFA). The cyber data as a service will enable large amounts of data to be analysed to derive focussed cyber situational awareness which will support enhanced decision making in cyber defence.

The service has been procured through the Crown Commercial Technology Services Framework and will be developed using the agile software development lifecycle adopting the Government Digital Services standard. Using open source, modular components and an agile development process within an agile procurement vehicle, the service will allow future analysis tools and data feeds to be integrated rapidly and efficiently. CGI will use its deep cyber expertise and data scientists to support the complex data analysis required so that the MOD can continue to be operationally agile and be able to counter adversary actions. CySAFA’s innovative architecture, which is extensible by design, will future-proof the rapid integration of additional capabilities and services, to enrich the MOD’s cyber situational awareness and resilience.

CGI will be supported by Northrop Grumman to deliver CySAFA and also Vysiion, from CGI’s SME Accelerate programme. This team will deliver an innovative blend of people, processes and technology which will enable improved cyber resilience.
